It is a scientific journal created in 2004 at the initiative of the staff of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the Aleksander Gieysztor Academy of Humanities in Pułtusk. Since 1 October 2019, in connection with the inclusion of the AH in the Vistula University in Warsaw, it has been published by the Vistula University.

The publication aims to disseminate and popularise scientific and research work and to serve as a forum to present the most recent research results. The scientific articles published in the journal address social sciences, primarily the sciences of politics and administration.

‘Society and Politics’ is a journal open to the research staff and PhD students of the Vistula University as well as to authors representing other scientific centres.

Journal co-financed from funds of the Ministry of Education and Science within the ‘Development of Scientific Journals’ programme under agreement no. RCN/SN/0376/2021/1 of 20 January 2023. Project duration: 2 January 2023 – 31 December 2024. Subsidy amount: PLN 54,400.

The programme aims to support editorial work on ‘Society and Politics’ in the implementation of the journal’s development strategy, including measures improving publishing and editing practices, increasing the influence of the journal on science development and the survival of the journal in the international scientific circulation
